Blogversary and a Home Depot Giveaway! *closed*

03.18.15

So I was making a sandwich the other day when I remembered something.

Jade and Fern has been alive and (mostly) kicking for two years now.

I know, I can’t believe it either. There’s been some periods of limping along, but we’re still here and here to stay.

And that, my dear readers, is entirely thanks to you. Blogging is exponentially more fun and fulfilling for an audience, and your comments, tweets, pins, likes, and shares have brought me so much happiness these past two years. You guys are endlessly supportive and I really couldn’t—and wouldn’t—be doing it without you.

To celebrate my two year blogversary and to say “thank you” to you lovelies, I’m giving away…drumroll please…a $75 gift card to Home Depot!

But first, a nostalgic look back at the five most popular DIY projects on Jade and Fern:

DIY Pineapple Ring Dish by Jade and Fern You guys LOVED this DIY pineapple ring dish project, and I don’t blame you—it’s so easy I made like 10 of them. They’re super cute around the house as little catch-alls, and make lovely gifts too.

DIY Honeycomb Wall Decal by Jade and Fern Wow, remember when my living room looked like this? Ugh. I sadly had to take down the DIY honeycomb wall decal in order to paint and redecorate, but it was SUCH a great statement piece. If you’re looking for an inexpensive and temporary way to add some impact to a room, washi tape is the way to go. DIY Wood Hexagon Coasters by Jade and Fern Hexagons are proving to be an enduring trend and I am hunting around for more ways to sneak them into our decor. For now, these DIY wood hexagon coasters are so chic on our coffee table and have held up really well. Don’t be intimidated by the idea of crafting with wood, all you need is a little hacksaw. DIY Storage Coffee Table by Jade and Fern Speaking of the coffee table…the DIY storage coffee table was one of my most viewed posts of last year—I think there are some furniture-makers among you! If you can use a power drill and a tube of glue, you can make this table. My proudest project, AND the most practical—husband and I put our feet up on this beauty every day.  DIY Color Block Triangle Earrings by Jade and Fern Last but not least, you all ate up my DIY color block triangle earrings. I get compliments on these every time I wear them, which is awesome because they were ridiculously easy to make. This would be the perfect project for a craft night with friends to ride out the rest of the cold weather which keeps dragging on and on and on…

I know, enough yapping and back-patting, let’s get on to the reason we’re all here…the giveaway! One of you wonderful readers is going home with $75 to the Home Depot to make all of your project dreams come true. Well, some of them anyways. What projects have you been dying to tackle?

This giveaway is open to U.S. and Canadian residents and will run from Wednesday 3/18/15 through Monday 3/24/15 at midnight EST. The winner will be randomly selected and contacted by email and announced via social media. The winner will have 24 hours to claim their prize, otherwise another winner will be selected. Thank you so so much for reading! I heart you!

  1. I would get tile for our shower. The floor of the shower needs re-tiling and we are going to try doing it ourselves.

  2. Congrats on two years! I’m a newer reader so I love that you recapped some of your favorites here — I’m totally copying that honeycomb wall decal! (I also loved your Christmas garland.)

  3. We just moved and I would like to do something to my patio, maybe add some flower beds and build something for a garden.

  4. Oh Geez, Two Years! Look at you go! I think I’ve been a subscriber since about your third month 😀 You just keep getting better and better! Thank you for sharing so much of your time creativity and self with us! And thanks for the giveaway opp too.

    1. Oh my goodness…THANK YOU! I can’t tell you how much it means to know that someone has stuck around for so long (I didn’t even know I had readers at the 3 month mark, haha!). You’ve totally made my month! xoxo

  5. I would love to use this gift card to make a bench for the front porch, we have been talking about it, would look great now that the weather is getting warmer.

  6. I like to garden and plant so with spring basically here, I’d like to get some items geared towards that – seeds, flowers, soil, etc..

  7. I know you took this down, but I really love the Removable Honeycomb Wall Decal DIY. I have been decorating our small apartment and this would be really cute on a small wall that turns to the kitchen. 🙂

  8. We are working on our downstairs bathroom-new paint, sink, toilet, hardware, decor, etc. This would be wonderful to have!

  9. Happy Blogiversary! So exciting! I love the pineapple dish, so cute! I would definitely start on a small cactus collection and put them in pretty pots in my kitchen!

  10. My next DIY project is to tear down all of the 1970’s wallpaper in the kitchen, repaint the walls and put up a backsplash.

  11. I love the gold-dipped flower pot! I have an embroidery piece I made and had it framed. I sanded off the finish and wanted to make it gold, but I’ve been afraid it might not work. I soo want to try this!!!

  12. I love ALL of your blog posts! I am working on some DIY projects for my wedding in May of 2016! Vases, centerpieces, boutineers! I would love your help and advice! xoxox Happy blogversary!

  13. We need to stain our deck, mulch the outside of our home, and paint our nursery for our baby that we’re expecting this summer!

  14. My next project will be transforming an antique sideboard that belonged to my Mom. I want to strip, and stain the bottom part..with the top being chalk painted in turquoise. This would definitely help. Thank you for the opportunity!

  15. Congratulations on your blogging anniversary! I hope this counts, but we are planning a DIY pumpkin patch this year. Apparently, it’s going to be lots more work than just sticking a pumpkin seed in the ground, like I originally though!

  16. We are getting ready to strip old wallpaper in our kitchen. This gift card would be great for paint and backsplash tiles.

  17. We are planning on doing some updating in our bathroom. Plus we are dying for a new kitchen faucet (hopefully a delta)

  18. I am planning an upgrade to my veggie garden this year. In the past I only had room for a couple tomato plants . This year we are extending it along with some trellis for vine veggies thst like to climb like beans, cucumbers etc
