Michael’s started stocking Halloween stuff in August. AUGUST, you guys.

Annnnnd I didn’t buy a single Halloween thing until yesterday.

Planning ahead is something I hope to learn when I grow up, someday, maybe. If you are in the last-minute camp too, but want to look like you have your trick-or-treating figured out, these minimal Halloween treat bag toppers are for you.

This is DIY at its absolute easiest. Print onto cardstock, cut, fold, stuff, and staple. Bring it on, costumed kiddos.

Tip: Don’t have a stapler because you decided to spray paint yours to make it pretty but then forgot it out in the rain all night? Use double-sided sticky tape or glue dots to attach the treat bag toppers instead.

Right about here is where my very serious photoshoot devolved into a game of how many ways can I arrange this candycorn?

This is the first year in my adult life that I’ll be giving out candy on Halloween and I am absurdly excited. Alan is a Scrooge about holiday participation, but we have new upstairs neighbors who are all-in. There are spiderwebs, skeletons, and buckets of candy. It’s going to be epic.

What about you—do you give out candy, go to parties, or prefer to stay in and watch scary movies? Anyone dressing up?
