I adore using simple materials to create simple solutions. One of my very favorite materials to create with is clay. I often reach for Air Dry Clay but love the color options that Polymer Clays can give you. Today, I am sharing how to create this modern DIY Marbled Hanging Plant Holder.
DIY MARBLED HANGING PLANT HOLDER
Skill Level: Easy-peasy.
Time: About an hour (including baking and cooling time).

What you do:
To start, you will create a marbled look by using a small amount of four different colors of clay. Remove a chunk from each color and start warming and kneading them in your hand.
Once the clays are a bit more pliable, use the rolling pin to start flattening them out. I flattened the clay and then folded it over a few time and flattened again. This helped to create more marbling.
Next, cut a thin strip of clay about 8″ long. I had to piece two sections together to get the length I needed.
Then, it’s as simple as gently folding the clay into a tear drop shape and connecting the top of the clay strip together. Follow the baking directions for your specific polymer clay. I put mine in the oven at 265F for about 35 minutes.
Once my clay had dried, I looped a piece of string around it and it was ready to hold my air plant!
I have so many air plants and never enough surfaces and containers for them all, so this modern clay holder is the perfect solution.
I love the organic green marbling effect.
Are you a fan of Polymer Clay? What have you made using it?
