Make It Friday: Stuck

01.17.14

Wow, I have never had such an unproductive week. Dishes are unwashed, groceries unshopped, and blog posts unwritten. The only thing I’ve accomplished this week is watching a lot of shows on Netflix.

My favorite remedy for being creatively stuck is taking long walks and letting my mind wander. And, of course, browsing Blogland for inspiration.

  1. Girl, I hear ya. January is the month of the slump for me! I think I’ve needed some time to step back and try to get a focus on my actual life or something? Eh. I dunno. Anyway, I’m trying really hard to motivate myself to have a productive weekend. Here’s hoping we both will!

    1. Yes to the slump! After all those holiday blog posts (and your crazy work schedule, and all your homemade gifts!) it’s important to take a break. Don’t push yourself too hard, I’m sure we’ll recoup soon! xoxo

  2. I was just talking to my husband about this this other night. I think it’s normal and really important for us “creative folk” to have those rest periods. It’s like your brain forces you to take a step back and regenerate. I went through that recently and wasn’t able to muster up a single blog post for months, then, suddenly, all my inspiration and motivation came flooding back. Don’t be too hard on yourself! Give yourself the time to veg out and regenerate (and stay warm!).
