Make It Friday: Handmade Art

02.21.14

You know I LOVE a great piece of handmade art. Possibly because I like keeping horizontal surfaces clutter-free and art is easy to hang. But also, because it’s art and it’s awesome.

Nothing personalizes a space quite like creating your own art, and with all the inspiration and tutorials floating around in the blogosphere, you don’t have to be an artist to do so.

Smile and Wave sticker art || 52 Weeks Project paper clock || Wonder Forest fauxlaroids

I love the idea of printing out some “fauxlaroids” with the tutorial by Wonder Forest. Even though I studied photography, I have ZERO personal photos on display. Weird, right?

How about you, what kind of art or photography do you collect/make/hang?

P.S. The Homies are open until FEBRUARY 22ND 5AM EST! Vote for me pretty please!

  1. What an awesome roundup of art, thank you so much for including me! I have several prints framed and ready to hang as a gallery wall, but I have yet to do it I think part of me feels that there won’t be enough and that it will look weird (silly I know). Perhaps I’ll give it a go this weekend!

    1. I LOVE your clock, it is truly a piece of art! And I hear you about arranging art, I am really bad at it. I can do vignettes of objects, but creating a gallery is tricky for me. Which is strange because I prefer the latter!

  2. Ah, love the fauxlaroids too.
I don’t have too many personal photos on display either! I think it’s because I don’t take very many photos… or the ones I already have are VERY old and VERY bad quality.
Voted for you for the homies!! Good luck 🙂
