DIY Mud Cloth Notebooks to Get Organized

I like crafts and I like DIY, but I like organization most of all.

Actually given yesterday’s enthusiasm over ripping out cabinets and shelves in our entryway, DIY might be starting to win over organization at long last. Luckily this project involves both, so we don’t have to choose.

Yes, DIY mud cloth notebooks! And they are so easy to make that I want to make a bazillion of them.

I’m guessing you can figure out the steps to this one on your own, but just in case you can find the tutorial over on More.

I’ll be up to my elbows in my entryway makeover with IKEA for the next few weeks, but I’ll try to keep the simple projects coming! (You deserve it after reading through my DIY kitchen cart transformation, you troopers, you!)

Warm Minimal Entryway Inspiration

A couple years ago I noticed that I was gravitating towards more clean, streamlined interiors on Pinterest and convinced myself that I was becoming a minimalist.

But minimalist spaces definitely do not look like this:

It’s 2017 and we’ve lived in this apartment for over six years. Time for a makeover!

My husband, landlords, and IKEA are helping me overhaul this mess and I couldn’t be more pumped. And yes, it will involve a good coat of non-army-green paint. And some purging. And possibly some cocktails, purely for motivational purposes of course.

I’ve been scouring design blogs for warm minimal entryway inspiration, and while I don’t think we’ll be able to pare down quite to this level of simplicity, this is the direction I’ll be going in for the makeover: white, bright, organized, dreamy.

It’s here — the end of 2016!

I have totally mixed feelings on this past year. Things were pretty good for me personally, but a lot of crap happened in the world that was just, well, awful.

But that’s not why we’re here! If you’ve clicked through to the bloggy I imagine it’s to get a break from real life and focus on how to make all the things.
